Day 28 – Milan

We had a leisurely start to the day.  After a coffee in a café less visited by tourists we took the bus to the station and waited for our fast train to Milan.  That was an experience to behold.  The lack of suitcase storage space had bags everywhere.  We had to place our heavy bags in the overhead racks.  Quite an effort to lift 20 kilogram bags above ones head I have to say.

Milan central was very busy but rather beautiful.  With the help of a Czech woman we got our tickets for the airport and the train for the airport had plenty of room to put our suitcases.

I had planned to spend a night in Milan central near to the railway station so we could then catch the express to the airport.  Plans changed as Bev and Graham were very anxious about catching the plane the next morning as we had 9 o’clock flight (meaning arriving at about 7am at the airport).  I had worked out what train we should take to get us there in time.

They were still worried so we went directly to the airport and then got a shuttle to a hotel 3kms away.  The area turned out to be a desert as far as cafés to eat at.  The hotel only provided breakfast – no evening meal.

The effort to get back to the airport and get a train into Milan was just too much for me so I decided that I would stay back and try and catch up with my blog.

No photos for today.  This post is for my memory as much as anything else.
